In honor of National PA Week, VISTA wishes to extend a sincere and tremendous thank-you to physician assistants everywhere. From October 6-12, we’re celebrating National PA Week, which recognizes the PA profession and its contributions to the nation’s healthcare. During PA Week, we hope you’ll have the chance to talk to a PA about what it is they do, and why they're proud to do it.
We recognize that even if you haven't been treated by a PA before, there's a good chance you will in the near future. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 125,000 Physician Assistants are working across the country, and the profession is expected to grow 31 percent between 2019 and 2029.
As a Physician Assistant, you've followed your passion for helping others, solving problems, improving care, and changing lives. Suppose you serve as a locum tenens professional. In that case, you're helping fill a critical need across the country—giving healthcare teams support and relief when and where they need it most, and creating meaningful connections with patients along the way. Thank you for choosing this career, for your commitment to your practice, and for the positive impact you make!
