Posted by VISTA Staffing on Dec 16, 2013 12:01:00 PM

Learn to navigate your home airport and you can pretty much make it through any airport in the world.

A potential bright spot on the licensing horizon

Posted by VISTA Staffing on Nov 12, 2013 10:38:00 AM

Forget travel, forget rental cars, forget apartment keys under the mat at midnight…Getting licenses in new states can actually be one of the most challenging aspects of locum tenens practice—or medical practice in general for that matter. But there is a glimmer of “standardize this process for the betterment of humankind” hope on the horizon.

Just a little story as I prepare for a three-week Indian Health Service locum tenens assignment in Tsaile, Arizona, near Canyon de Chelly:  The first time I hiked in Canyon de Chelly, seven years ago, our group found a little border collie dog near death under a tractor down in the canyon.

Collect these documents once. You’ll need them for locum tenens and everything else.

Whether you are just completing your training, considering locum tenens work, or ready to interview for permanent jobs, it makes sense to gather and keep copies of the following documents in a secure, accessible place. "Dr. Terry Cloth calling about local tennis"

Posted by VISTA Staffing on Oct 14, 2013 1:09:00 PM

It’s true, in the early days some people thought doctors who worked as locum tenens might be snake-oil salesmen. They questioned our ability to get and hold good jobs and refused to introduce us to their sisters. They said, “What? You’re Dr. Terry Cloth and you’re calling about local tennis?!”
