Salt Lake City, Utah - October 1, 2009 - The Maine Hospital Association (MHA) has announced an exclusive endorsement relationship between their wholly-owned entity, Associated Health Resources, Inc. (AHR), VISTA Staffing Solutions, Inc., and On Assignment, Inc. VISTA, the physician staffing division of On Assignment, Inc , locates and arranges for independent contractor physicians to fill assignments for MHA member hospitals; and On Assignment will provide nursing and allied healthcare personnel for MHA member hospitals. MHA and VISTA have had an exclusive endorsed provider relationship since 2004. This new agreement reaffirms that relationship and expands it to include On Assignment as the exclusively endorsed provider of allied healthcare and nurse staffing services.

"Since 2004, our members have been pleased with VISTA's service and their temporary physicians," says Steven Michaud, president of the Maine Hospital Association. "It was a natural extension of this service to expand AHR's relationship to include On Assignment, Inc., and the nurses and allied health professionals they provide. We're delighted to make this service available to our member hospitals and look forward to a long relationship with On Assignment as an exclusive endorsed provider of allied healthcare and nurse staffing services."

VISTA Staffing Solutions, headquartered in Salt Lake City, recruits, screens, and places physicians in temporary assignments throughout the United States and abroad. These physicians represent a wide range of specialties and guarantee vital patient care for health care organizations that are experiencing fluctuations in their patient care needs.

"Physicians who work in temporary assignments are called locum tenens physicians, after the Latin phrase, 'one holding a place.' Locum tenens physicians work from a few weeks to several months in practices and facilities that are actively recruiting. They also cover for ill or injured physicians and those on military deployment or sabbatical. In addition, locum tenens physicians can supplement hospital and clinic staff during periods of peak demand," explains Mark S. Brouse, VISTA president. "Maine is a beautiful, interesting state," he continues. "Our physicians really enjoy working there."
